What food should we reduce?
- Reduce intake of fat, especially saturated animal fats - lard, butter, fatty meat, cream and mayonnaise. It is preferable to use vegetable fats - the best is olive oil. Avoid fried foods, it is most healthy when it is cooked by steaming or in oven. However, if you fry vegetables or meat, do it as Chinese do - a very high heat for short periods.
- Limit consumption of sausages and processed foods, red meat, smoked meat and fish. Eat more often white chicken meat (without skin), not lean beef and turkey
- Minimize consumption of sweets - candy, chocolate, cream pies and cakes, syrupy desserts, jams and more. Pasta such as pies, muffins and white bread should also be limited.
- Salt and spices should be used sparingly in cooking. Not recommended salty canned products, pickles and salty sausages.
